Income Replacement Your right to income replacement Wage Compensation The wage compensation ("EO") covers part of the income a conscript could have received during service periods. Taxes and duties have to be paid. If you are employed, at least the amount of the compensation, depending on your contract and union coverage possibly more, has to be disbursed to you by your employer. Unemployed conscripts receive the statutory minimum amount directly from their federal pension and disability insurance agency ("AHV-Ersatzkasse"). Procedure At regular intervals during a service and by its end a "report card" is issued. This card is to be completed and sent to: Group of People Recipient of the registration card Employed Employers Persons less than 12 months are unemployed Last Employer Self-account-holding AHV compensation office Non-working students AHV compensation office St.Gallen Other AHV compensation office at the residence Level of Compensation The wage compensation is calculated per day of service according to the wage to compensate. To conscripts with children special regulations pertain. Service type approach min max allowance for self-account-holding RS fix 62.-- 62.-- + 67.-- Further training 80% 111.-- 196.-- + 67.-- Other 80% 62.-- 196.-- + 67.-- Usually, the wage to compensate is assumed equal to the wage earned shortly before beginning the service period. This assumption can be overthrown, if during the service the conscript: would have worked more than assumed (e.g. services during semester break: he could have upped his job to full time) could have reported for a new job (e.g. service period shortly after finishing of study: a job could only be taken after said period) The fact that a higher wage is to be assumed as well as its amount are to be substantiated by the conscript (e.g. employer testimony or diploma) for the appropriate agency.
